House of Bread relies on many volunteers to help fulfill our mission of preventing hunger and building community. Scroll to the bottom of this page to hear our volunteers talk about why this work is so important to them.

Our biggest need is in the kitchen. We need 4 to 6 volunteers every day to help prepare and serve lunch to our guests. Shifts are from 10 am to 1:30 pm—you need to be at least 16 years old and we ask that you come with a compassionate mindset.

Occasionally, we need an extra driver to help pick up food donations. Email us to find out whether we could use a hand, and we’ll walk you through the approval and scheduling process.
